Week 1

1.Text is in logical ordering. The title is easy to read in the square format. Sub title is a little small compared to the title and authors name. The font does suit the subject as it is all in the same format. The authors name is the only material that is different. Title text is easy to read. Sub text a little small. Authors name is a different font from the title and the sub. Overall, easy to understand.
The image does convey the message, as there are women on the cover. Different silhouettes of women, title of the book 'lucky girls', meaning more then one. Message is conveyed well. The image is engaging as it is repetitive. Reading the synopsis, does not make me want to pick up the book. "Nell Freudenberger writes about girls – varying stories of high detail about the modern woman. The cover is a royal stamp collection of silhouette varying stories of high detail about the modern woman".
Defiantly a image dominant layout. Very clear from the women in a repetitive state. Two colours used. Image and text do work well together. The title is in the same format as the silhouettes of the women, which makes the cover look clear and defined.


2. Text is shaped in the form of a sad face. Text is in logical ordering. Title first, then author's name, with no sub title. Font used is suitable for the cover and is easy to read. Title in bold. There is no image on this cover. Only a solid yellow colouring. The colour yellow is a bad choice as it does not suit the title. Maybe a darker colour would have been more appropriate. It is a simple layout.






3. Text is the majority of the book cover. Text in all forms of direction, which makes the cover hard to read. Font used suits the cover as it makes the ‘busy’ concept. The image represents the lively character of Oscar Wilde as with the font. From the synopsis, ‘the lines of titles originating from Wilde act as his rays of enlightenment and glory’. Reading the synopsis, does not make me want to pick up the book. It is far too busy and hectic.
